As we wrap up the year, this is the second time I've been able to take time and reflect on what we've accomplished, what we have ALL accomplished together at Whole House. I was looking at Facebook this morning and saw that four years ago on December 28, 2015, I was in bed, post-surgery, binge watching Sons of Anarchy. I took time out to post about it at 1:40am. Pain can make sleep difficult. I had no idea that 100 miles away, people that I would come to care about were experiencing the most painful moment of their lives. Moments before, at 1:12am, Patrick Wolterman died in the line of duty. His death changed the trajectory of so many lives; that is what trauma does. I didn't even know him and he changed mine. It is an honor to serve the men and women who so deeply cared for Patrick and were impacted by his loss of life. The work we do to keep everyone safe, out of harm's way, and healthy, is the most important work I've ever done. Thank you for your service, and thank you for letting us serve you. See you in 2020.
